10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. -- A Virtual Run in 2020
For the past 11 years FISH has had great fun with their annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. However, this year out of an abundance of caution and care for participants and islanders, the 10K Race will be taking place virtually. While the ‘official’ date of the 10K Race was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, runners may participate virtually and log their time at any point from when they register through October 31st. Registration is open through the Fort Myers Track Club. Participating runners will receive a dri-fit shirt, with the Hortoon 10K logo on the front, as well as a matching face covering which will be mailed to directly to them. The registration fee will be refunded to a runner if they fundraise $250 or more (excluding processing fees). Additionally, for every 5 referrals a runner makes to others who sign up, they receive a $20 discount (half-off). For additional information, click here.
We Continue to Monitor the COVID19 Pandemic
News concerning the COVID19 virus is concerning, and we are all doing our part to stay vigilant while reducing risk to our community. At FISH, we are monitoring the situation closely and following guidance as set forth by the CDC and Department of Health, and we are in close contact with the City of Sanibel to review updates and recommendations as needed. We are taking precautions in close-contact programs such as our meal delivery, equipment, and transportation services. Food Pantry patrons will not be allowed to shop but instead will be handed bags of food. We encourage anyone who is under the weather to stay home, and ask that you call us if you need a change in the services you receive from FISH. As of now, all workshops have been canceled until further notice. If you have any questions or concerns, or if you need assistance, please contact Alicia Tighe Orgera, Executive Director, at 239-472-0404 or by email, firstname.lastname@example.org.
