12th Annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. - A Virtual Race This Year Due to COVID
Premier Sponsor Cielo
Out of an abundance of caution and care for participants and islanders, the 10K Race will be taking place virtually. The pandemic has created a crisis of all forms, including an economic crisis for the island’s tourism-driven economy. FISH recognizes the toll that COVID has taken on the community and knows that there remains a lot of uncertainty and strain ahead. While this year’s 10K is a different format than usual, the organization is hoping that more people from across the country and world will lace up their running shoes in support of a great cause.
While the ‘official’ date of the 10K Race was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, runners may participate virtually and log their time at any point from when they register through October 31st. Registration is open through the Fort Myers Track Club. Participating runners will receive a dri-fit shirt, with the Hortoon 10K logo on the front, as well as a matching face covering which will be mailed to directly to them. The registration fee will be refunded to a runner if they fundraise $250 or more (excluding processing fees). Additionally, for every 5 referrals a runner makes to others who sign up, they receive a $20 discount (half-off).
Support our Community Partner, the Sanibel Community House! Get ready to run your best race with a 'carb' load dinner on Friday, October 23 featuring Grilled Chicken Breast with Citrus notes, Tomato Pasta & Vegetable Bake, Chef Jarred's “Amazing Mac and Cheese”, Salad and Garlic Bread.
