R.S. Walsh Supports 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. as Silver Sponsor
R.S. Walsh Landscaping is a family-run business naturally filled with outdoor enthusiasts who heartily support the 7th Annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. The Saturday, Oct. 17 race attracts runners of all ages from near and far to Sanibel Island. It is a day dedicated to running and proceeds to F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP.
“We like to be involved in our island community,” Justin Walsh, operations manager, said of being a Silver Sponsor. “We all seem to enjoy the outdoor competitive events a lot, too.”
In 1982, Robert Walsh launched a company that provides complete custom landscape planning, design and installation services. Clients work directly with a landscape architect to achieve an ultimate paradise for any size project from start to finish. Today, R.S. Walsh continues to be family-run by Robert, his wife Lisa, their two sons Justin and Jeremy, along with several employees.
“Building a business from the ground up is very rewarding,” Justin said. “You learn to rely on each other to get the job done and that in itself is a blessing. Our family is involved in the day-to-day operations. To know we are all working together to build a successful business makes the challenges worthwhile.”
The R.S. Walsh signature of sustainable beauty can be seen in the landscape of upscale residential homes, as well as notable commercial properties on Sanibel and Captiva. Waterscapes – waterfalls to elaborate ponds – are also trademarks of some R.S. Walsh master landscape plans. After 30 years, the family and staff remains committed to superior workmanship, the highest standard of materials and the constant pursuit of excellence.
“We have some people who have been with our company for 20 years or more,” Justin said. “I hope that speaks well for the type of company we have built over the past three decades.”
It has been 30 years since F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP began providing much-needed social services to the communities of Sanibel and Captiva Islands. It has touched thousands of lives throughout that time with its Helping Hands programs, food pantry and volunteers who give thousands of hours annually to serving clients.
“R.S. Walsh supports our community in so many ways,” Ed Ridlehoover, race committee co-chairman, said. “We are delighted to have them be a part of the race, an event that brings runners from near and far to our island for a worthy cause.”
