Helping Neighbors: MOAA Sponsors Veterans on the islands
The Lee Coast Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) presented a check to FISH Board Chair John Pryor from their annual golf outing, the Bob Janes Memorial Golf Outing, named in memory of the former Sanibel mayor, Lee County Commissioner and the chapter’s first president. MOAA provided these funds to FISH to assist veterans in need.
MOAA was established as a local chapter in 1982 with membership open to all active, retired and former military officers, including Coast Guard, Public Health Service and NOAA. Nationwide there are over 380,000 members in over 400 local chapters. MOAA, as a national organization serving the nation and the community, is dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and preserving the earned entitlements of serving members of the uniformed services, veterans and their families.
