Helping Neighbors: Back To School Made Easier through F.I.S.H. / Friends Who Care & Captiva Chap
F.I.S.H OF SANCAP and Friends Who Care have been working together for many years to identify and assist households provide much needed back-to-school supplies by offering Target gift cards, graciously donated by Friends Who Care. To add to the back-to-school shopping experience, Captiva Chapel-by-the-Sea responded by creating ‘Undie Sunday’ and giving generously to that fund! Through that financial donation, FISH was able to order supplies and provide to various households in our community. When children return to school, many will arrive in the comfort of new socks and undies, and with a smile of gratitude for F.I.S.H. and Captiva Chapel-by-the-Sea.
“Kids need more and more supplies these days, and as a mother of multiple children, it gets really expensive. I never want my kids to go without, especially when it comes to educational needs and necessities. With my reduction in working hours and the additional restrictions placed on the ‘tax-free’ days, I was getting worried about how to pay for it all. When I heard from FISH offering assistance, I was so grateful! The Target gift card and undergarments for my kids help cut the costs, and made them proud to go back to school with all the supplies on their lists. Thank you FISH, Friends Who Care, and Captiva Chapel for thinking of your island youth!” Island mother of three attending The Sanibel School.
Through these local partnerships, FISH can help island households defray the expense of back-to-school supplies and clothing. FISH is thankful to partner with Friends Who Care and Captiva Chapel-by-the-Sea in support of our island youth.
