Helping Neighbors: F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP Welcomes Back Volunteers
Welcome Back ‘snowbird’ volunteers, and thank you year-rounders! FISH are so thankful for all volunteers, who are making a difference every day at FISH OF SANCAP! Your story, skills, and talents are what make you special, and you have the ability to make a difference for our island neighbors.
Did you know it takes over 150 volunteers at FISH to keep it running smoothly? Volunteers are vital to the work of FISH throughout our community. Whether it is stocking food for the food pantry, serving meals to seniors and others needing daily nourishment, or driving islanders to medical appointments, FISH volunteers make a difference in so many ways.
Volunteering builds team spirit, fosters a community of giving and ensures FISH can have maximum impact while accomplishing their mission – to lend a helping hand to those that live, work or visit Sanibel and Captiva Islands. There are many volunteer opportunities at FISH throughout the year, and several ways you can help make our community a better place. Do you enjoy meeting different people and hearing their stories? Then driving someone to an appointment, on or off island, may be a perfect fit for you! Super organized individuals may find that stocking and keeping the food pantry in tip top shape is a great way to spend a few hours! At FISH, there’s never a dull moment and always a need for an extra pair of hands, eyes, and ears. If you are interested in lending your talents to FISH, please contact Lyn or Joi at the Walk-In Center during normal business hours, Mon. – Fri., 10am to 4pm.
