Doc Ford's Returns as Silver Sponsor of Popular 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H.
Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille has been serving hungry guests for nearly 15 years on Sanibel Island – a community which it supports in many ways like the 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. It returns as a Silver Sponsor of the ninth-annual race that draws hundreds of runners including Doc Ford's Rum Runners, the staff team.
“We are proud to be a supporter of an organization that helps not only our local families, but those visiting the islands,” said Doc Ford's General Manager Kim McGonnell. “The people of this community help us continue doing what we love. We wouldn’t be who we are without that support – being a part of the 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. is the least we could do.”
The popular eatery is named for the hero of noted Sanibel author Randy Wayne White's novels, adventurous scientist Doc Ford. Diners will be delighted by the flavorful dishes inspired by the author's travels to such places as Cuba, Cambodia and South Africa, as well as South and Central America.
If there is room for dessert, the Drunken Parrot Carrot Cake is homemade and spiked with a hint of Gossling's Black Seal Rum. It is the specialty and a perfect way to end a delectable meal.
Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille has three locations serving fresh, local seafood and ingredients: Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach and Captiva. Just as White’s novels were inspired by the places he visited, the spirit of the rum bars are inspired by the main character in those novels.
The 10K Race is set for Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Sanibel Community House. To learn more about sponsorships, contact Nancy and Pete Bender at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 239-472-5220.
