Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Celebrating Neighbors At Monthly Luncheon
The F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP monthly Friendly Faces luncheon is an opportunity to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. Held monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, George & Wendy’s Seafood Grille and F.I.S.H. host the luncheon, which is open to the community.
In May, over 15 neighbors joined F.I.S.H. for the monthly lunch, including ‘birthday gals’ Clara Thomas and Fran Cameron, island residents. Their very special celebration included wearing feathery boas and celebrating with birthday cake, balloons and a room full of friendly faces. Clara, celebrating her 99th, blew out the candles wishing that she will be this happy next year for her 100th. When asked what she attributes her longevity to she said, “The good Lord doesn’t want me yet, he still has things he wants me to do.” Fran, celebrating her special day, attributes her longevity to ‘living in the moment and just being happy today, because you don’t know if there’s going to be a tomorrow’. Fran’s view on age is, “age is just a number and mine is nonpublished!”
The F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP Friendly Faces price fixed lunch, consists of an entrée, side, non-alcoholic drink and dessert. The partnership with George & Wendy’s Seafood Grille is an wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones, and to celebrate every day as a special day with your island neighbors!
