Lee Health Foundation Returns as Sole Premier Sponsor of 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H.
Lee Health Foundation returns as the sole premier sponsor of the 10th Annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. set for Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Sanibel Community House. The race has grown in popularity, drawing hundreds of runners from around the globe, throughout the years. It supports F.I.S.H. of SANCAP in continuing to provide important services to those in need, who live, work or visit the islands.
“F.I.S.H. is a wonderful organization and serves a critical role on the island,” said Lee Health’s Chief Foundation Officer Skip Leonard. “It helps to enrich the lives of so many on Sanibel and Captiva. Neighbors helping neighbors is a beautiful thing.”
Lee Health Foundation raises crucial funds to sustain and enhance patient care and health and wellness programs of Lee Health. Because so many individuals who call Sanibel or Captiva home have been so generous to Lee Health through the years, Leonard says giving back to the islands through F.I.S.H. is a small way to say thanks for your continued support.
Islanders played an important role through the annual SanCap Cares event in building the state-of-the-art Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. The seven-story, 128-bed facility located on the Health Park campus opened May 2017 and has been trasnforming pediatric care for all children in Southwest Florida. New services are constantly being added in the new facility so families facing complex medical diagnoses can stay close to home for are, rather than travel great distances. All the care and compassion is provided in a warm, comforting atmosphere. In fact, Galisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida was recently named 2018’s Most Beautiful Hospital in the U.S. by Soliant.
Lee Health consists of four acute care hospitals and two specialty hospitals extending from Cape Coral to south Lee County. It’s the largest public health system in Florida, receiving no direct tax support. “We are grateful to Lee Health Foundation for returning as the race’s sole premier sponsor and for their support of the 10K race’s cause,” said Ed Ridlehoover, co-chair of the race committee.
