Helping Neighbors: F.I.S.H. Program Presentation: ‘Are You Walking Around In A Fog’?
F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP, with Brain and Mind Care, is offering a community presentation, ‘Are You Walking Around in a Fog, on Thursday, November 8, 2018, from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ located at 2050 Periwinkle Way.
It’s true, we can suffer from ‘brain fog’. Dr. Mabel Lopez, Ph.D, Neuropsychologist, will discuss the importance of sleep, why you may have sleepless nights and how to get the amount of sleep and rest that your body and brain needs to function at its optimal capacity.
FISH Program Director Kathy Y. Monroe, states, “Sleep deprivation plays an important role in memory and attention. Various sleep behaviors and/or disorders (insomnia, sleep apnea, sleep deprivation) affect the way our brains function. Some of these disorders, gone untreated, might lead to very unfavorable and irreversible consequences.”
If you, or someone you know, suffers from sleep deprivation or other sleep disorders, this is a presentation you won’t want to miss. This seminar is open to the community and lunch will be provided. For additional information and to RSVP, contact Kathy Y. Monroe, FISH Program Director at (239) 472-4775.
