Helping Neighbors: F.I.S.H. Program Presentation: A Balancing Act: “I Might Wobble, But I Won’t Fa
Back by popular demand, F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP, with Rachel Tritaik, PT, CLT, LMT of Island Therapy Center, is offering an encore community lunch and learn presentation, ‘A Balancing Act: “I Might Wobble, But I Won’t Fall Down!’ on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 12:00-1:30 PM at The Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. This workshop will address the environmental, situational and individual factors contributing to falls, offering great tips to mitigate each factor and ways to improve your balance reactions.
Rachel Tritaik, PT, CLT, LMT has been helping people age 10 to 100 improve their balance, strength, mobility and flexibility for over 20 years. She founded the Island Therapy Center, a full service physical therapy clinic on Periwinkle Way, in the Sanibel Square, and manages a team of experienced doctorate physical therapists, massage therapists and trainers. Their mission is to reduce pain, restore mobility and return people to their active lifestyles.
“Our community is full of very active people who walk, run, cycle and exercise, and that’s one reason this presentation is so popular,” states F.I.S.H. Facilitator, Program Director Kathy Y. Monroe. “However, outside our homes we seem to be more aware of safety precautions than inside our home and surrounding environment. You will leave this workshop knowing how reduce your chance of incidents, as well as how to handle them when they arise.”
This seminar is open to the community and lunch will be provided. For additional information and to RSVP, contact Kathy Y. Monroe, Program Director or Anthony Morales, Social Services Assistant at (239) 472-4775.
