BOTI Returns as Silver Sponsor of Popular 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H.
Bank of the Islands, a name synonymous with island community banking since 1974, shows its support of the 11th Annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. as a Silver Sponsor. The carefully plotted foot race, which draws hundreds of runners each year, benefits the neighbor-helping-neighbor organization F.I.S.H. of SANCAP.
“F.I.S.H. is there day in and day out to address unmet challenges facing our neediest neighbors. That life-affirming work is often performed in a confidential and respectful way, so it can be invisible to others,” said Bank of the Islands Vice President Willy Ocasio. “The 10K race is a great way to shine a spotlight on the problems being tackled by F.I.S.H., and the ways in which we all can help.”
Bank of the Islands has placed a basket for dropping off non-perishable food donations at its two convenient office locations on Sanibel and Captiva Islands to help with F.I.S.H. food pantry collections. “It gives a whole new meaning to the idea of stopping by the bank to 'make a deposit,” said Ocasio, who also serves on the F.I.S.H. Board of Directors.
Bank of the Islands is the oldest locally owned and managed community bank on Sanibel and Captiva. It has been dedicated to providing genuine personal service and on-site decision making with an undeniable interest in the community it serves. Bank of the Islands has been honored with 39 “Best of the Islands” awards since 1999, including being chosen the Best Island Bank for 20 years straight.
“We genuinely thank Bank of the Islands for its wonderful contribution to the F.I.S.H. 10K race,” said Ed Ridlehoover, co-chair of the 10K committee. “Bank of the Islands' philanthropic support touches many worthy organizations, such as F.I.S.H. It's investing in the well-being of our community.”
