Popular Island Eatery Supports Popular Island Race
Lazy Flamingo was a Silver Sponsor of the 11th Annual 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H., an event as popular as the ice-cold, freshly-shucked oysters and clams on the half shell served at the island eatery.
“It is always important to support non-profit organizations in our community,” General Manager Ron Rich said. “These organizations and the people they assist are an integeral part of what makes Sanibel and Captiva Islands so unique.”
It is truly a unique dining experience at the Lazy Flamingo – whether you choose Lazy I near Captiva or Lazy II along Sanibel's main thoroughfare Periwinkle Way. Just look for the Flamingo pink buildings where a friendly staff is ready to serve up delectable menu items, from the Big Burger to the mesquite-grilled grouper platter.
“I think what makes the Lazy Flamingo special to the islands is definitely the people,” Rich said. “We have many dedicated and loyal staff members who have been with our company for many years. Residents and visitors enjoy seeing a familiar face when they visit our restaurants.”
Lazy Flaming delivers desserts like the old Florida favorite Key Lime Pie among various other choices. Guests who want to remember the unique Lazy Flamingo experience can take home a Flamingo souvenir – the unmistakable pink Frisbee is part of the race day goodie bag for runners.
“The Lazy Flamingo is a strong advocate of our community,” F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva Inc. Board Vice Chair and 10K Committee Co-Chairman Ed Ridlehoover said. “Their support of the 10K race helps us continue our mission of lending a helping hand to those in need and we are grateful.”
