FISH OF SANCAP Welcomes Back Volunteers!
A huge and heartfelt ‘welcome back’ to all FISH seasonal volunteers! Thanks to FISH volunteers, our community is stronger; they are heroes who accomplish remarkable feats every day and have a real impact on the lives of our neighbors. With volunteer help, FISH continues to honor their mission, ‘to lend a helping hand to those that live, work or visit Sanibel & Captiva Islands.
“We are thrilled to see our seasonal volunteers return, and we have lots of areas that can use their assistance. And, we are always looking for additional people who want to volunteer within their community. Even if you have just one hour, once a week, we can find a place for you,” states Maria Espinoza, FISH Walk-In Center Manager. FISH recently held a volunteer recruitment social to introduce the community to the available opportunities. Volunteers are trained in their area(s) of interest and placed with a more seasoned volunteer to shadow. There are always opportunities to become involved with FISH, from transportation to meal delivery; phone duty to stocking shelves; and much, much more!
“FISH could not offer the programs and services to the extent that we do without our fantastic volunteer force. Our islands have some of the most committed volunteers with an incredible range and depth of experience that is fundamental to our success. We are looking forward to celebrating our volunteers at the FISH Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, scheduled for February 19, 2020,” states Alicia Tighe, FISH Executive Director.
